If there was ever an excuse to have cake for lunch, this is it. Tucked away behind the bustling Piccadilly Circus, Cutter & Squidge is the perfect sanctuary on a rainy London day. As soon as you walk through the door you're faced with a row of cakes that are practically begging to be blogged about - or snapped on instagram - before being devoured. But believe me they are there to be eaten, and you will groan in pleasure whilst doing so.
I took copious photos in between mouthfuls of sponge and sips of tea, and to be honest I think they say it all. The cafe's clean, white, almost Scandinavian interior is starkly contrasted by the lavish cakes and brightly coloured crockery, and it makes for a comfortable atmosphere and a spot-on aesthetic. Just don't go if you have a hankering for something savoury or healthy, because it's sweet and sticky all the way. And that's the best way.
If these cakes don't have you salivating, grabbing your oyster card and running out the door, you need to seriously reevaluate your life choices.
